Dancing is fun for all ages. We have programs for adults, as well as youth. Check the schedule and course descriptions below for a class that fits your needs.

Youth and Adult Programs

Registration for the following Youth and Adult classes will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at Spring Forest Middle School in Temporary Building T-7.

For more information, contact our Dance Director, Sheila Collins at (281) 496-2725 on weekends and Monday thru Friday after 6 p.m.

The following Youth and Adult dance classes will be taught at Spring Forest Middle School (SFMS) - 14240 Memorial Drive, Westchester Academy for International Studies (WAIS) - 901 Yorkchester, and Spring Branch Education Center (SBEC) - 9016 Westview.



Youth Dance Program

Course Descriptions

Ballet
Designed for those with a beginning knowledge of ballet. It will improve muscle tone and enhance one's posture. A review of the basic ballet technique is worked into the course. For the non-professional who desires to go beyond the beginner level. Limited enrollment.


Ballet for Exercise
For persons with little or no ballet training. Learn to appreciate the fine art of ballet while gaining poise and posture. Necessary for students in any dance discipline. Limited enrollment.


Hawaiian Hula
Introductory Polynesian dance focusing on contemporary Hula but including ancient Chant Style, Tahitian, Somalian, and Maui dances.


Jazz Dance for Exercise
Escape with us in a social gathering while adding vigor and vitality to your life. Learn to dance with classroom structure and lively body motions. Limited enrollment


Jazz Dance II
Requires basic knowledge and technique of Jazz Dance. First semester of Jazz Dance preferable.


Middle Eastern Dance (Belly Dancing)
For fun and exercise. This is a very casual and low stress class. Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes and bare feet. Plan to have fun while exercising!


Salsa/Merengue
Salsa/Mambo and Merengue are the two major dances used in Latin clubs. Danced to the pulsating rhythms, Salsa/Mambo is danced quickly with lots of hip motion. Salsa/Mambo uses syncopated footwork combined with quick flick kicks and lightening turns to express the incredible energy of the music.
